This is a meticulous and succinct volume, written in a lively and crisp style, exploring many of our homeopathic bird remedies and their application. Visually-speaking, the lay-out is clean and spacious, and many of the photographs are beautiful.
The author begins by introducing common themes found in bird remedies, whilst also discussing some of their notable biological characteristics. He then groups the birds into 6 different types: raptors, geese, chickens, songbirds, seabirds and exotic birds, of which the raptors are the largest category, and presents the remedies to us.
There are many case histories, often described with clarity and precision, and an explanation of how he uses a range of methods, including some unconventional ones, to inform his remedy selection, and how he sees handwriting, drawings and colour as relevant confirmatory aspects of a case.
Bird remedies, like the Lanthanides, are increasingly understood as remedies for our times and this book is a comprehensive and inspiring depiction of over 20 of them. It is unusual in its fusing of traditional approaches to prescribing with a much more intuitive and patient-led understanding of when a bird remedy may be indicated, and as such it would make an excellent addition to the bookshelves of both the more experienced homeopath as well as those still studying who wish to investigate this wonderful group of remedies.
