Wondrous Order Systematic Table of Homeopathic Plant Remedies
Michal Yakir

This stupendous work on the plant kingdom tabulates its subjects' themes according to their evolution. In this way, the most primitive plants (Magnoliidae) express primordial themes such as confusion, lack of differentiation, spaciness, etc. Whereas those at the apex of plant evolution (such as the Asteridae) express issues of Ego-survival within a world that may be dangerous or overwhelming. These themes are mapped out in columns and rows - reminiscent of Scholten's Periodic table - yet within a uniquely botanical perspective. Materia Medica from each family are referenced from reputable sources such as RADAR, MacRepertory, Reference Works and Vermeulen's Prisma. Lectures and discussions with other professional homeopaths such as Vega Rozenberg, Yakir's own and other colleagues' cured cases over the years - are included in the text.
The introduction explains clearly how the layout works and how best to use this as a reference tool - the columns giving themes that can be broadly expressed as feminine thro' masculine, underpinned by Jungian psychology and the individuation of the Ego.
The rows map the maturity with which the issues within each column are faced and  reflect Erik Erikson's seminal work "Childhood and Security," which describes the progress of life as a continuum of 8 stages. For example, Cannabis Sativa, from the Urticales, appears in column 2 (Neither here nor there, small or large, Reproduction malfunction) and row 1 (Before birth, not present, subconscious, shamanistic) and perfectly encapsulates these concerns. The Sapindales - incorporating the Anacardiaceae - appear in column 5 (split between masculine and feminine, rules, boundaries, fanaticism, rigidity, criticism, suppression) and rows 4 & 5 (early childhood, paralysis, sexual boundaries, learning rules versus rigidity and refusal to learn, not fitting in, criticism) - all themes which may be found in Anacardium itself.
This is a beautifully illustrated, clear, helpful learning tool and reference resource.
