This book offers a comprehensive introduction to fish as a distinct animal group and to the individual remedies that have been most frequently prescribed, both by the author and other homeopaths.

At nearly 200 pages, there is a wealth of information to be explored, including the Materia Medica and provings of 19 fish remedies and 3 related substances Ichthyolum (a fossil), Oleum jecoris aselli (cod liver oil) and fish toxins and nosodes (Ciguatera, Saxitoxinum, Scombroid poisoning). It also presents many diagrams and colour photos of the remedies, the place of fish in ancient mythology, culture and astrology, as well as marine biological history and fish evolution, and an extensive exploration of the anatomy of the animal itself, together with its emotional expression.

Chapters 4 - 6 form the core of the text, in that here we learn about the symptom pictures of patients who need fish remedies, including mental and emotional, as well as physical and general symptoms. Bodrogi also introduces some really helpful comparisons with the periodic tables, the key polarities and sensations, as well as differentiating between kingdoms, and two very closely related remedies: Aqua marina and Natrum Muriaticum.

The book concludes with the two wonderful chapters of Materia Medica, Provings and Cases and they are a joy to read - well structured, beautifully presented and the cases succinct, informative and inspiring.

This book is the first I believe to map the kingdom of fish and its dreamy waterworld reality and is a complementary volume to 'Sea Remedies' by Jo Evans, which concentrates on the invertebrates, rather than the fishy vertebrates, of the marine kingdom.
