This book is an extraordinarily comprehensive guidebook for using about 250 homeopathic bird remedies, both known and unknown. It is precise, informative and instructive, not only in terms of the remedy pictures but also in terms of the different bird families, with their unique characteristics and behaviours, habitats and calls/songs, and how all of this detailed information translates into human characteristics that we need to understand in order to prescribe these remedies effectively. There are wonderful charts and beautiful colour pictures that bring these birds, and remedies, to life before our eyes.
It is also a brilliant teaching manual for the system of MAP that has evolved from the Joshis' decades-long careers as homeopaths in India. It introduces the seven levels of human development and their central issues (connected to the rows of the Periodic Table) and also the eighteen columns (of the Table) and their qualities. And it explores in particular the animal kingdom and the coding system (Base level, Predominant Level, Capacity Level and Streaks) that is used to locate the correct remedy, providing really helpful differentiation between this and the other kingdoms, as well as between the Subkingdoms of Mammals and Birds.
The second chapter contains three detailed cases in which bird remedies were prescribed, greatly illustrating the Joshis' methodology and case-taking, as well as the remedies themselves.
Although in the higher range with respect to cost, this is a book worth every penny - a reference manual to come back to again and again, each time shedding new light on the process of homeopathic prescribing and the system of MAP.
